Remote Reiki you can receive from the comfort of your own home.
If you can’t easily get to Buxton, or you’d simply rather rest in your own space, a session can come to you. You settle somewhere comfortable at home, we have a quick chat by video or phone, and then you rest while I work. Many people find it easier to let go somewhere familiar.
Many people choose distance Reiki because it fits easily around work, family life or limited mobility, while others simply appreciate being able to relax in familiar surroundings. Wherever you are in the world, the booking calendar shows session times in your own time zone.
What is distance Reiki?
Distance Reiki, sometimes called remote Reiki or absent healing, is a Reiki session where practitioner and client are not in the same room. Within the Reiki tradition, energy is not considered bound by physical location, so a session given remotely is understood to work in the same way as one given hands-on or hands-off in person. Many clients find it difficult to tell the difference from being in the treatment room.
What a session feels like
We start with a short, relaxed chat. You can tell me how you’ve been and anything you’d like me to focus on. If you’d rather not say much, that’s absolutely fine. I meet people where they’re at, and ultimately it’s the energy that does the work.
Then you get comfortable, close your eyes and rest while I work. Some people drift off; others notice a quiet settling over them. Afterwards, we reconnect, and I share anything I noticed.
Before every session, I spend a little quiet time preparing through a Reiki practice called gassho.
Is distance Reiki right for me?
Distance Reiki can be a practical option for almost anyone. Clients come to distance Reiki for many reasons, commonly to unwind from ongoing stress, to ease anxiety, or to support more restful sleep.
A remote session can be particularly welcome for anyone who is housebound or finds travel difficult. If someone you care about would like to experience Reiki but cannot easily get to a treatment room, a session can come to them instead.

I’m a holistic therapist based in Buxton, Derbyshire. I came to this work through my own experience of seeking support through difficult times, and I bring the same care and presence to every client, whether we meet in person or remotely.
I take this work seriously, but I don’t take myself too seriously. I spent many years working minimum wage jobs, so there’s nothing precious about me, and a bit of humour is always welcome. People often tell me I have a calm, grounded presence and a knack for putting them at ease.
I love in-person sessions, but distance work has a joy of its own: I get to meet people from all walks of life and every corner of the globe. I’m still amazed that Reiki can reach someone hundreds or even thousands of miles away, through a laptop screen or a phone.

Common questions about distance Reiki
Within the Reiki tradition, energy is not considered limited by physical distance, so a remote session is understood to work in the same way as one given in person. Many clients find distance Reiki just as settled and supportive as being in the treatment room. As with all Reiki, it is a complementary practice for relaxation and wellbeing rather than a medical treatment.
Book a time online. Shortly before your session, find somewhere quiet and comfortable to lie down or sit. At your session time, join the video call using the link in your confirmation email, or I will ring you if you chose a phone call. You rest while I work remotely for the length of the session, and there is time afterwards to share anything that came up.
Just a phone, tablet or computer, and a comfortable, undisturbed spot. You remain fully clothed, and you do not need any special equipment. If you would rather not be on camera, a phone call works perfectly well.
Many clients find it difficult to tell the difference. I hold the same dedicated time, quiet preparation and attentive presence as I would in the treatment room, so a distance session can feel every bit as relaxing and supportive.
Yes. Distance Reiki is available worldwide. The booking calendar shows available times in your own time zone, so you can choose a slot that suits you.
Distance sessions start from £35 for 30 minutes, £45 for 45 minutes, and £55 for 60 minutes, the same rates as in-person sessions. Payment is taken securely by card when you book.
Please give at least 48 hours’ notice and I will move your session or refund you in full. With less than 48 hours’ notice, or if you miss your session, the fee is non-refundable. If I need to cancel, you will receive a full refund.
